Arrests Update from Thames Valley Police

Protest – AWE Aldermaston – arrests update

Thames Valley Police can confirm that 26 arrests were made at yesterday’s protest at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) in Aldermaston.

Five people were arrested for gaining entry to a secure site and the remaining 21 were for obstruction of the highway.

Eleven people have been released on bail to return to Newbury police station in May and the rest have been given cautions.

Here is the full break down of arrests:

*A 41-year-old man from Alicante, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 26-year-old man from Alicante, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 21-year-old man from Elche, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 21-year-old woman from Brussels, Belgium, was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a highway and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 18 May.

*A 23-year-old man from Gran Canaria, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 41-year-old woman, from Brussels, Belgium, was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a highway and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 18 May.

*A 39-year-old man from Gran Canaria, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 31-year-old man from Bilbao, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 24-year-old woman, from Brussels, Belgium, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

* A 49-year-old man from Milton Keynes, was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a highway and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 18 May.

*A 23-year-old man from Alicante, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

* A 24-year-old man from Bilbao, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 68-year-old man from Alicante, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 39-year-old woman from Gran Canaria, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 43-year-old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a highway and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 18 May.

*A 40-year-old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a highway and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 18 May.

*A 56-year-old woman from London was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 44-year-old man from Elche, Spain, was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 61-year-old woman from London was given a caution for obstruction of a highway.

*A 26-year-old woman from Edinburgh was arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 19 May.

*A 38-year-old woman from Bidport, Dorset, was arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 19 May.

*A 54-year-old woman from Edinburgh was arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 19 May.

*A 43-year-old man from Galsgow was arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 19 May.

*A 35-year-old man from Paisley, Refrewshire, was arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 19 May.

* A 26-year-old woman from Lanarkshire was arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 19 May.

*A 52-year-old woman from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a highway and has been released on bail to return to Newbury police station on 18 May.

The people arrested on suspicion of entering a protected site will be dealt with by Ministry of Defence Police when they answer bail.
